Winter is definitely heading this way. My flavas have packed in long ago and the intermedias were not far behind. Now the flytraps are tucking it in and my filiformis have hunkered down.

Yeah it's the saddest time of the year. I got my first Sarracenia this year and the flavas never really did much after I received them. A couple threw up some non-carnivorous leaves though. I'm hoping spring has an awesome turnout. I was surprised by how my tracyi went dormant already, as well as my dreamsicle. Seems those are more geared towards photoperiods because temps here are still pretty high. It's been interesting observing the different habits of these plants, even amongst the species of Sarracenia.

Once it gets hot the flavas head for the hills. That just about when the leucos and purps are thinking about getting serious.

That's what I noticed too. The flavas sat but the leucos and the S. Smurf I got are still going. My alatas are both growing like winter doesn't exist lol. That's cool though, it gives variety and something different to look forward to throughout the year.

Yep, it's great to grow a variety of carnivorous plants so that there's always something to look at. In particular, a variety of Sarrs provides something that looks nice even during the dead of winter. And even in dormancy, Venus flytraps are still pretty nice looking once the dead stuff is removed.
