Has anyone ever bought a mystery nepenthes seedling from littlecarnivores on ebay? I'm thinking about getting one and wanted to see/hear about some results.

The vast majority of the time, no ID Nepenthes seedlings are the result of when people buy wild collected "edwardsiana" seed (or other rare species.) 99% of the time it ends up being either N. stenophylla or N. zakriana.

Interesting. I didn't know people "scammed" with nepenthes seeds that were less rare. I dont think this is the case for these ones though. The description says that they received seeds as a gift from a fellow grower that did not have a description as to what species/hybrid they were. They say that they are growing well in highland conditions, so I'l probably just pull the trigger and get one.

I bought one earlier this year when they were “on sale”. Here are a couple of pics

I never realized how "hairy" it was until I looked at the picture I just posted on the computer instead of my phone. IMO it looks like it is either "glandulifera" or a hybrid with of "glandulifera". I know there are people on this forum who are much better with the identification of species, so I will defer to their expertise.

Thanks for sharing some pictures. If i fo end up getting one ill probably wait for the sale, as the price seems a little bit high for a mystery nepenthes. Its probably still to early to tell what it is. Can you post another picture when the pitchers get bigger?

I know someone who got one when they were first listed and still has it, and it is 99% stenophylla (sorry no pics) but could possibly be a hybrid

Doesn’t seem to have the glandulifera glands on it. More likely another hairy species/hybrid.

whatever it is its pretty cute. I would assume these mystery Neps would be ventricosa, or some such hybrid. Those look really nice
