I remember as a kid seeing some carnivorous plants at every garden centre and large hardware retailers in the UK. Now you can't find them anywhere except specialists. I guess they were just a craze here in the late 90s early 2000.

How cool is that? I think I read somewhere that citizens of the UK played pivotal roles in preserving the nepenthes genus; through greenhouse cultivation. Have you ever heard that?

I know very little about nepenthes to be honest but I know this country has a deep history with plant collection and cultivation from around the world especially during Victorian times. I'll have to look that up sounds interesting.
