Just got a sundew capensis Alba and a sundew andraneda both look pretty good the capensis is a little droopy but that’s common due to shipping. Can’t wait for new growth and dew!

D x Andromeda really is a nice plant. I assume it is good at catching gnats.

Yeah, it’s also big enough to catch house flies which are a big problem down here in Texas, gnats not so much. I’m thinking about cutting all the leaves offi of the capensis and wait for new growth. Should I or should I just leave them.

Leave the leaves. They'll still make some energy thru photosynthesis as long as they're green.

Do not cut off the leaves. That will stress the plant even more. Leave all of the ugly ones until they turn brown.

I hadn't heard of Andromeda, I just googled and it's a beauty. It can really hold and digest houseflies? The leaves look too thick to curl up, can they?

I don’t think the leaves can curl up but the tentacles probably do move.

Yeah I don’t think it can curl. But I couldn’t tell you since there is no dew on them yet
