Unless it was sold as a specific cultivar, ie "Jaws", "DCXL", "Pinnacle", etc., then it's officially a typical.
Even if it was sold as a named cultivar, some sellers market it as named to get a few more bucks.
Where did your acquaintance get it from?

He has about 20 plants like that in his garden and I don't know where did he get them from

Then, unless sold as a named cultivar from a trusted source, they're all typicals.
