Hey peeps quick ? For ya.

I got a pre made bog garden at the local nursery, you know the one, a purple pitcher and 2 flowering vft’s. In a small circular pot. It was in bad shape, so I separated them all and put them in LFSM and new glazed pots.

I already have new growth coming out and the old leaves are starting to turn.

So my question is, I put them in short 3 inch pots and they have no room to grow. Should I re pot them for a second time (within a month) and get them in appropriate size containers, or wait and repot them next spring when I re do all of my substrates? I don’t want to stunt the new growth, but the pots they are in are short, 2-3 inches tall and 2-3 inches wide. Mark

I suggest repotting again. 3 inches is not much room for root growth.

That’s what I thought. Am going to find a suitable container double the size for each one. I know that stadium cups are recommended but i prefer something a little sturdier.

The nice thing about bog plants is. There’s really no such thing as “overpotting.” You have to be careful with normal plants, because you don’t want the soil to hold on to more moisture than the plant can use. But bog plants want that constant moisture, so the only real consideration is, “am I wasting space with a big pot that could be taken by another plant right now?“ :-)

Ok 👌🏿 hope it enjoys the room !!! Lol hopefully it enjoys the sunlight and rain and may put into an even bigger one next year. I’m thinking of cutting off the flowers stalks and trying to grow babies in those little pots I had them in.
