I need some info in regards to this type of cultivar. I heard it can handle the cold, but I want to know at what point should I be worried about it and bring it inside since it has no dormancy and is essentually a tropical plant. Does anyone grow this plant outside year round in the same climate as mine?

nepenthes will do fine with cold weather, just be careful when the temp gets to the 40s

Well Omar that isn't really entirely true. Ron, first of all N. Alata is a very adaptable species of Nepenthes it can tolerate a wide verity of growing conditions. An yes it can still grow in low temps just make sure that the temps don't go below 50F for too long. During the winter since day times are shorter you may wanna use Florescent light's to supplement your plant for the total light it needs.
