Several weeks ago, my p. gigantea started producing slightly smaller/darker leaves in what I assumed was some sort of winter rest phase. And now it's starting to produce a flower?!

I had assumed pings only flower during the spring. Do they also flower during the winter or could it be seasonally confused from indoor growing?

Is p. gigantea self fertile? Has anyone managed to propagate it by seed?

I'm in the UK and some of my Mexican Pings flower all year round but I also have at least a couple which only flower in Winter, these are P. gracilis & P. rotundiflora. Unfortunately my P. gigantea has never flowered yet so I don't know if it will be a Winter flowerer or not.

My gigantea is sending up a flower bud now too. Some pings bloom mostly in their winter stage, some year round, some in summer, some especially during the transition.
