I want to put some carnivorous plants in this, but I am trying to decide which ones would be best suited. Once planted, it will likely not be moved, as it is pretty big (approx 30" long x 7" wide x 7" deep). It can be used outside, as it has an overflow hole, but it can also be used inside, as that hole has a removable plug.

My preference is to put it outside. I live in a mediterranean climate, with winters in the mid-30's (F), with the occasional night or two of below freezing. Summers are typically in the 90's (F) with 100-105F not being unheard of. Lots of rain in the winter, typically, sometimes (rarely) snow. Hot and dry in the summer, cold and wet in the winter. I live in a house, so it can sit in morning sun or all-day sun, depending on where I decide to place it.

Inside, the only issue I have with the planter is it is big and would take up a lot of real estate, so it would probably not be allowed to live in the garden window, where the sunlight is the best for plants. I would have to either establish artificial lighting over it (something I don't really want to do) or put in plants that don't mind filtered light.

Right now, I am leaning toward VFT's or Drosera. What would you plant?

I would do one side "scarlet bell" in front and "hummers hammer head" in the back. other side VFT's in front and some Threadleaf sundews in the back and if i had room i would work in some intermedia sundew in very front.
