Hard to tell from the most recent pic, but looking at the previous pics of the plant in the bowl planter, i'm 95% sure it's a rubra.

Pitcher shape is definitely rubra-esque, possibly alata, but the clumping growth is more consistent with rubra. Rubras also have red flowers, whereas alatas are yellow/whitish.
xanthoparmelia wrote:Also, if this is one of those Bug Biting Plants dormant rhizome kits from Lowes, I know those have included both rubras and purpureas before. That's definitely not a purp.
Yes, the other plants are from the Lowes rhizome kit, so they are Rubra as you say. The mystery plant is also from the kit, however, and it's not a CP. i have it in in plain old potting mix right now.

Do you have a pic of the flower in bloom? Thought it could be a coneflower of some sort like Echinacea Paradoxa, but the seed cone is all wrong and the flower looks smaller. Maybe a Coreopsis sp or something. Really hard to tell. I wish i had the plant in front of me and my an old flora dichotomous key from college.

That will be tough. They don't bloom for long. But I can say that it is a small white flower with big yellow pollen.

So are you a trained botanist?

Oh, a white flower. I was thinking they were yellow. Not that it makes much of a difference b/c I still don't know what it is!

I'm not a botanist, but my degree is in biology and I am definitely still a plant nerd. Although back then i primarily studied lichens (hence my username, xanthoparmelia)
