Scotch Moss in Saracencia Purpea

I have a couple of Saracencia Purpea plants that have lots of what looks like live Scotch or Irish Moss growing on top. It looks nice but I'm concerned that the moss may choke out the Purpea. Is Scotch Moss bad and should I remove it?
