I only grow one species of Heliamphora as I have only been growing Carnivorous plants for just over a year. I would love to aquire more plants for my collection but have not come across any others avaliable.
Heliamphora tequilla is a hybrid(I'm not sure what two plant species have been crossed) that is one of the most heat tollerant species of Heliamphora. I grow mine in live Sphagnum moss in a 10 cm plastic pot. The pot sits in a cat litter tray, this is to catch water. I water my plant from the top untill water starts to collect in the bottom of the tray. I then wait till the water in the tray hase gone untill I water again. It grows in my unheated green house allong with my Neps, Utrics and Pings. The temperature ranges from about 7 to 35 degrees celcius. Because H.tequilla is so heat tollerant, It can stand these heat fluctualtion( I dont think some of the more fragile species could not). These conditions seem to work for me bacause there is alot of new growth coming on my plant. Here is a photo of the biggest new unopened piture.
If any one else grows Heliamphora in the community pleas notify me because I am very interested in growing these spectacular plants.
Thanks, Pat
