Last year, I bought 3 sarracenia rhizomes from California Carnivores and I got an additional seedling sarracenia, beacause it was a seedling I put it in a different tray that contained utricularia bismiquata. Later that year when they ( adult plants ) woke up, my water quality had gone to 3000 ppm in that tray and they died because I forgot to flush it. But to my surprise, the other tray that I had also forgot to flush only had 200 ppm. I then tested my quality on other bladderwort trays and to my surprise, they also only had 200 ppm.

My question is if you have ever had the same results and if this could be used to filter water inexpensively for beginners

Thank you for your time

It sounds like in the high ppm medium that the medium has lost its acidity and is allowing the soil to break down releasing nutrients, or there is something dead and rotting in the tray (worms slugs?).
Check the acidity and replace the medium if necessary.
