I am curious if anyone has great luck with this method. I have some great lava rock pieces I would like to grow my pings on. I would love to hear any of your experiences.

Yes I arranged my lava rocks in a shallow saucer, the type you put under a pot, Then put the clay pellets all around the rocks up to the rim of the saucer. Every week I just add water to the saucer and the lava rocks pull up just the amount of water to keep the plants happy. :D
