I picked up these two at a garden center I'm Indiana. Now I have to figure out how to vet home with them. Has anyone carried plants into a flight? ImageImage

Oh my... plants on a plane! Here you have to go to the agricultural departement thingy, which is in the waiting room, if I remember.

I am not sure about the rules in the US though. I have only carried bulbs and seeds on planes, never live plants. Wait actually the bulbs were on a train.

Where are you going?

If you're just going between states, there should be no problem whatsoever unless there's an explicit ban on plant transport for some reason. It's only between countries that it's a problem, usually.

Shipping is an option, but, if not, they should be easy to take on the plane. Definitely dump the liquid out of the pitcher plants, and see if you can tape some paper towels over the soil around them to help keep things inside. Water them thoroughly, then get a couple of cups or glasses, tape the cups upside-down over the pots, and place them in an un-sealed bag to catch any water drips. They'll be fine in your carry-on. The X-ray of the bag won't hurt them, and the airport screeners won't care. You can't hijack a plane with plants.

I've taken Orchids on a plane, no problem, between US states.
