I was looking at my pot of utric when I spotted something green beside a small shoot. Is it live sphag or algae?
Its in the tiny triangle of light

I can't really see it that well, but judging from the picture it does not look like a head of sphagnum.

It's a little hard to tell, as FM pointed out, looks like algae though.

I've killed off a few heads in the past :? I dunno why they died though, maybe it got too dry for the sphagnum.

It might've gotten too dry, I have many little green heads popping out too, and the ones that get the most air circulation just turned white.

It might be a young head of sphagnum, but I don't know how to tell because I don't think I have ever seen a really small sphagnum head before.
