Hey all,

I brought some fly trap seeds off eBay just over a year ago. I germinated them with great success and planted them in a mix of coco peat and vermiculite (not the greatest mixture but peat moss is difficult to get in the uk). They are a year old and they have barely grown at all in that time. Also looking at other people's pictures they don't look quite the same so interested to see what you all think. Here are some pictures...

Cheers

Elliott :)

I'm sorry to say but they aren't venus fly traps. Once they germinate they start putting out traps.
I have also bought fake seeds when I first began. Buy them off of reputable sellers next time.

Thanks guys for the response. After a bit of research I think you are right about dragonfruit, The seeds look identical. Looks like I'll re plant them in some soil and sand or something. I guess the zero nutrients medium has massively stunted their growth.

On a side note just ordered some more seeds from a genuine seller, along with some peat moss. Let's do it right this time ☺

Thanks again

Ha, this always kills me reading these posts. A pretty good rule of thumb in life is to avoid buying anything from china off eBay if you are worried about authenticity. I will never understand how or why people in china sell fake VFT seeds for $1.00 and free shipping, what do they net on this transaction, about $ .04?

Good luck with your new seeds, it's a very fun process growing from seed!
