I have two N. Sanguinea that are about 6" across at the moment. Is there any way to estimate roughly how big a pot they'll need in about 4 years? They're in 4" pots right now, and, from what I can see without digging them up and cleaning them off, their root balls are maybe 2" across.

Get a pot that has a large diameter - I don't think it needs to be very deep, but you will need a pot that is heavy when filled with media to keep the sanguinea from tipping - they get REALLY top heavy after a short while. My sanguinea is 1 1/2 years old and the stalk is 2' and the leaves are 1'. The roots on mine pretty much grow along the surface of the media, but I think that's mainly due to me not having it potted at all previously to putting it in it's current pot, the root situation would probably be better if I started it out in a decent sized pot as well, and it would be anchored better. Hope this helps. I love sanguinea, I think you'll be pleased with its vigor as well.

What if I just propped it up with some other pots or something heavy? Or got a big, heavy, entirely glazed pot?

Also, assuming the plants themselves aren't crowded up against each other, would planting them both in the same pot and crowding the roots a bit stunt them? Or would they not care, since they just need roots to suck up water?

Mine are easily double the size they were in December, throwing out pitchers as tall as they are, and putting on a new leaf something like once a week. They're very impressive growers.

I tried putting mine in one of those sealed, decorative, heavy pots that phalaenopsis are often sold in and it was still tipping. The pot mine is in is actually a hanging pot that I don't have the hook on because the suspension lines would've cramped it. I wouldn't put two sanguinea in the same pot just because they would block light from eachother.

Roughly how big of a plant can I expect in 4-5 years? I genuinely didn't realize that these grew so fast when I got them.

And would it be accurate to say that a pot about as wide as the leaves are long would be a reasonable size?
