So I checked on my nepenthes ventricosa just now, and noticed two blackening trap lids...!
Is this bad....or is it like the venus fly trap, and will re absorb old traps?
I just flushed the soil with distilled water after some coffee fertilizer a couple days ago...

Pitchers have a limited lifespan. They will naturally shrivel when they're old enough.

If you just got the plant, they usually lose their pitchers while they settle into their new home.

I just got a new pitcher, alata, a few weeks ago. Even though they're supposed to be easy to grow in the house by the window, it finally aborted all of the pitchers it had forming. I also repotted it. Repotting can make it lose pitchers too. For some reason it still does have the fully-formed pitcher that was there when I got it, but the lid is half brown.
