Ok so i bought my mum an orchid for mothers day a while back and i have moved out now and took it with me as she is no good at looking after thing, such as me haha joking! But seriously ive got it with me now and i know some what to do but help would be great, i have cut it back the the closest node so it will re-flower is that right? Image

It isn't guaranteed that it will bloom again from that spike but you have given it a good chance too. I've had several bloom again and several that havent. If the spike continues to yellow past the node cut it above the next node down and try again. If it doesn't bloom fertilize it and give it plenty of sunlight. It takes a lot of energy to flower. Cool nights also help trigger new flower spikes with phalaenopsis. Good luck.
