I just received my shipment of .60¢ vft from Cook's.... Needed some cheapies for an experiment. Anyway one of them has 3 little fern like shoots. What is that?

Yes that's definitely a separate plant apart from your VFT.

I thought it was attached. Have to see what it does.. I potted this bare root vft..in dead spagnum...might be moss.. But it looks alive

When dead sphagnum is re-hydrated, some spores can still make new, live leaves. Also there is the possibility of other seeds and spores being in there.

It doesn't look like sphagnum to me, but instead a very annoying, weedy type of moss i get in some of my plants.

I bought one plant with it, and now its everywhere lol.

Yeah if you don't want that moss growing in there then yank it now. I let it grow in my adult heli pots and it just gets so dense and tall.
