Aesthetics aside, are there any consequences for untrimmed blackened and decayed leaf?

I have collections in a terrarium, on a windowsill, and outside.

Any thoughts and suggestions? thanks!

I generally trim when it appears that the plant has reabsorbed the nutrients from the leaves. If the leaf was damaged by a pest then I generally just trim the leaf as a precaution. There have been a few times where the dying leaf has fungal growth from remnants of food, so I just remove those as well (again, as a precaution). That could partially be attributed to a lack of airflow at the center of the plant where the fungal growth seems to occur.
