Hello,
I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this plant. I have been wanting one for awhile now and I think I'm ready to get one.

I have done some Internet searching and it says to tray water it and give it as much sun as possible.
I plan on putting it in one of my windows that gets bright light for most of the day.

Potting seems a bit off. Everywhere I look tells me something different. It says sized for a 4'' pot or bigger but I'm wondering how deep. Can I put it in a big enough pot that I won't have to transplant it later

I found one available here

Just looking for others with experience and or opinions
Thanks

Drosera binata grows a large root system, so it can benefit from a larger pot (but it shouldn't mind growing in a smaller one). In my observation, the roots tend to grow downwards, and not sideways, so a deeper pot will help. The plant really needs full sun to grow its best and healthiest, so a 'bright window' might not be enough.

The plants do go dormant in winter, but in its natural range, the temperature won't drop lower than around 50 F. I'm not sure about how well it would do in the cold michigan winters, so you'll have to research that.

Under dormancy requirements it says binata multifida extrema can be grown year round if its temperatures don't drop.
Ok, I did some research, and apparently this form does not require dormancy like you said. However, some posts did mention that they don't tolerate cold weather very well, so try to keep it above 50 degrees.
This form is from Stradbroke Island, Australia, if you need to research its climate more.

I think I'm going to try and grow it in my brightest window and see how it does. If its to low of light I will adjust accordingly.
Thanks for your help.
