The other day i recieved a S. oreophylla Sand mountain for chrismas from California carnivores. When i recieved it, it had 2 new pitchers growing from it's growing point. What should i do. Should i put it through dormancy, or should i put start growing it like normal. And also, how long after the first pitchers do flowers form?

I agree with letting it finish its dormancy. If you just received it, it's midway through dormancy now. If you mess with its biological clock, it could grow poorly this season and most likely won't flower at all, even if it's old enough. (Sarracenia generally begin flowering in their 3rd to 5th growing season.)

I've put Sarracenias through dormancy where I've cut off all the pitchers, and the first thing that emerged from the rhizome in the Spring was a flower.

Likewise, some Sarracenia grow a few pitchers early on, then toss up a flower afterward. No two plants are on the exact same clock.
