If you choose the right orchid you'd be surprised just how easy they can be to grow. My Phalaenopsis Kolibri was wilting quite dramatically but with an extra misting a day (I mist my orchids every day instead of watering under the tap once a week) and having been moved to my pinguicula shelf its leaves have perked up beautifully and it has grown a new, thick root! I can't wait to see if it flowers for me again.

My other orchid which is a dyed royal blue (I didn't know it was dyed or I wouldn't have asked for it for my birthday) is currently about to bloom :) The stalk is MASSIVE! I can't begin to describe how excited I was when I saw the plant was flowering!

They're definately worth looking into!

From the hours (and hours) of research I have done concerning slipper orchids,I've discovered they are no harder to grow than Phala's.(Moth Orchids ;) )
And, as a child, I always had the faintest admiration for these lovely flowers,to which I hope to expand into my collection.
Not limiting myself to mere carnivorous plants, I believe

....Well there you go. :D
And,believe it or not,My great-grandfather was a successful Orchid horticulturist!! Either an elaborate coincidence,or my sub-conscience is telling me something...

I say again.

 When pondering the mater,it seems to be a rather fortunate series of coincidental events.I mean,my great-grandfather was seriously into all kinds of orchids, and had many of them.
Then,3 generations later,I'm following in his footsteps.I never met the guy,and I didn't know about his hobby until recently, you got to admit that's pretty cool. :)

What light source do you use for your plants.
