I recently recived a capensis red in a trade, It looked fine when I got it but now something weird is happening. At first i thought the new growth was just coloring up but one of the new leaves unfurled and rather than being a solid red it was just spotted with red dots. The tentacles didnt look quite right either. Is it just ajusting to my conditions or something else? Any ideas?

Someone may know off the top of their head, but in a case like this, a photo or two would be very helpful for the rest of us. :)

In the meantime, what kind of lighting is it getting and how much? If it's under fluorescent lights, even a strong one, capensis red usually loses most or all of its "red". It needs sun (I dont remember how much) to maintain its red coloration on new growth.

If the main centre area of the plant looks healthy, id say the leaf is just stressed to new surroundings.
