I received a sapodilla seedling today and the instructions say not to give it direct sunlight for at least a week or two and to let it acclimate it’s way there. I can’t find much on google if this is also the case for LED lights? I’ve had one before and it died because my husband overwatered it and caused a fungus gnat infestation in the soil. Regardless, it was also suffering due to lack of light in that situation, and didn’t do much in terms of new growth over the 3 months we had it. I’m planning to keep it indoors until it’s about a foot tall at least, and then I’ll begin hardening it off to outdoors. Does anyone have experience with young fruit trees that have been shipped like this? I’d like to get it set up under some LEDs, but don’t know if I should follow the same waiting period for indoor lights.
