My first flower is coasting over the finish line in the next week or two, and I would like to line up some winners slightly in advance so I can send them out as fresh as possible. These are N. [(lowii x veitchii) x boschiana] x (spathulata x petiolata) hybrids, and the parents are growing in intermediate conditions at the moment, although the offspring will probably be fairly flexible. Please be aware that, unlike most other cps, growing Nepenthes from seed requires about a year of stable conditions (minimum) to get them to shipping size. They do not require stratification, but should be soaked in distilled water prior to sowing in either live or dried sphagnum moss, kept moist and humid, and under bright light.
Seed parent pictured below - the pollen parent has never given me a great pitcher, unfortunately, but has a nice wavy red peristome.
Final giveaway count will be determined when I harvest, but at least three(3) people will receive at least one seed pod each. All U.S. residents eligible to enter, EXCEPT anyone I have already offered or arranged to send seeds to privately.
I will pay shipping, and send a little extra dried sphagnum so you can get them going ASAP if you have none on hand. Giveaway runs through Monday, February 7th, and I will draw winners after midnight.
Standard giveaway format
1. You
2. Them
3. etc
Happy growing!
