For my birthday, I splurged and bought a Sarracenia x Cazadero Trail from Sarracenia Northwest:
From a seed batch of open-pollinated plants at our nursery, we quickly noticed the potential of this plant when it was a very young seedling. As a mature plant, it is quite remarkable. It features very striking dark veins that boldly stands out against a creamy yellow background. As the growing season progresses, the rim of the pitcher turns maroon. The plant also grows vigorously and forms large clumps relatively quickly.A very pretty plant, looks like it could be an S. x moorei. Because of all the variability in the two parent species (flava and leucophylla), the appearance of these hybrids is all over the map. My plant arrived in a 4-inch pot, and I slip-potted it into a 5.5-inch for more room to expand. The tallest pitcher is 16 inches, supposed to top-out around 2 feet.
