I’m very proud of being able to keep my baby alive! I am a beginner and want to learn more about these amazing plants.

It looks like it is struggling a little bit. Having it in sphagnum moss is good, but it does not need to sit in that much water. That will cause the roots to rot and kill the plant. With the moss and that type of pot, you would be better off to just water it from the top when it starts to dry out a little and skip the saucer all together. If you want to keep it standing in water then you will want to get a taller pot and only keep it in about 1/2 inch of water or less.

Thanks for that advice. Do you think I need to repot it? It had a flower bud, and I think I read somewhere to not repot when it's blooming.

That's a tough call. I'd almost want to repot it just to see how the rhizome is doing. How long has it been sitting in that much water? I would cut the flower stalk off, though. I know you want to see it flower, but that will take a lot of energy from the plant and I don't think it can handle it in its current condition. If you do decide to repot it, be sure that you have the right type of media to put it in. Either sphagnum moss or a 50/50 blend of peat moss and perlite. Whatever you do, do not use Miracle-Gro brand anything. That contains fertilizer. You want to make sure that whatever you use is fertilizer free. Hopefully some of our flytrap experts will chime in with suggestions.
