Hello! Just wondering if this is a good setup for growing sphagnum. I use rain/distilled water, the moss is growing on about 1/2 inch of LFS, suspened on styrofoam with a cloth under the substrate wicking water from the tub. There is also 1 inch of styrofoam around the boarder to keep in the substrate and raise humidity. It gets about 3 1/2 hrs of direct sunlight, probably more

Pretty overkill but sounds like it should work. I grow mine a few different ways. One is on a bed of peat with 100% humidity. The other is just throw some chopped up sphag in a pot and cover it. Keep it most give it light and it will grow. It's really an easy thing to grow as long as it stays moist and gets light

Ok cool, i just kind of wanted a plant and forget kind of deal. Rain will refill as needed, and its shallow. So airflow will be good and stave off rot.
