Is it normal for the white part of the leaf pulling to turn red?

The rhizome part of the pulling is starting to turn red. Is this normal?

Yes, the whitish part of the rhizome will always turn red when exposed to strong light.

It's like a gringo spending too much time at the beach in the spring (speaking from experience...).
