Hello! I'm relatively new at caring for Nepenthes and have been fretting over this plant for the better part of 3 weeks. I am growing it in a terrarium, making sure to meet all of its needs to specifications. Even so, i've noticed red splotches on its leaves. I know leaves can sometimes turn red as a response to light, but I've never seen it do so unevenly like this in a plant before. Is this normal?

This is my Nepenthes Diana ((N. sibuyanensis x ventricosa)x ampullaria) i've named "Killer Queen." I purchased it from Carnivero. It's being kept in an exoterra.

75f in the day, dropping to 65f at night, with 14 hours of light. A constant 70-80% humidity using a reptifogger. A computer fan provides airflow, and I water it about twice a week. I'm using bugs I captured around the house, but so far i've only fed each pitcher once as to not overfeed it.

Beyond these red splotches, it seems healthy. The growth point looks fine, and the new pitcher is coming apace.

Also the red splotches are much more intense in color in person, they don't show up as clearly on camera.

Also the damage on that one leaf happened in shipping. Didn't seem to do any lasting harm.

Personally, I think the plant looks very good and healthy! I wouldn't worry unless it gets way more pronounced. Nice plant!

Looks perfectly normal. Sometimes that happens when a plant is uprooted, repotted, or shipped (especially for species like bicalcarata and rafflesiana, seems like). It can also happen when the temps get too low but I’ve only seen that on lowland species.

COOL! Thanks you guys. New plants always make me paranoid lol. Figured it would be better to be safe than sorry.

This image shows the red more accurately to what it looks like in-person. Kind of looks like acne lol
