D. Intermedia made hibernacula for the winter and they are waking up.
I probably found 60 or more of these little plants. As you can see, they don't look like much now. They are 25% the size of a pea.
The hibernacula sits on the very top of the dead d. Intermedia. You can pull it off and replant it. Or push it back into the soil a little and it will crawl out a whole plant.
I am going to take some pictures so you can see what they do.
D. Intermedia grows easily from seeds also.

I let all of these stay outside and dormant for the winter.

I still think this whole process is pretty cool, our Tracyii is coming back up now emergeng

the D. Intermedia seedlings I brought back inside a couple weeks ago to put under lights to get them kickstarted into growing they are looking great. we getting everything divided up and into new containers sometime between now and moving them outdoors. I've just been lazy and not sure if kid can handle finessing working with such tight clumps of tiny plants (SO MANY PACKED IN!!)

our big pot full of mostly mature Intermedia may have died? we will see they don't look good no clue why those in a larger pot look horrible but tiny seedlings in tiny pots weathered winter fine maybe they are fine. we'll see!

Thanks for posting the pics! It is really neat to see what is going on in the soil. I would like to try separating a mound of filiformis hibernacula. I think I will wait for the plant to actively start growing and then see if I can ween those babies! :D

I had to pot them up. I left them outside in a mini-bog for Winter to see if they will survive.

D. Binata T-form left outside over the Winter. I read that it comes back from the roots. The old crown has stayed hard, so I kept waiting for hybernacula or rejuvenation. It's a month later than the others but...
