While tidying up my grow area, I chanced upon this lowii-life character and his new partner in crime, suspiciously lurking amongst the Nepenthes pots.

Before they were gathered up and held in the cooler overnight, I was able to get a couple of mugshots of these culprits. ;)

that is its name, but I carnt put it Exudates from under the lid :) and extrudes is probably the wrong term , it manufactures the Exudate to attract birds and rodents to drop the wast (Poo) in to the pitchers as they feed on the exudate , which helps with nutrients for the plant , a friend a professor of chemistry has done an annalist on the exudate , he said it was made up of fats and sugars and will publish a paper on it soon hopefully this year !! tried to put a picture of the pitcher with exudate he got it from but its to large to put in here its very impressive with large amounts of exudate under the lid .

Thanks for the comments guys,

Snapperhead51, I'd love to see some pics of your just about to open lowii uppers.

And I've heard that the white gooey thing-a-ma-jiggy substance produced on the underside of the lids, actually tastes a bit like lemon sherbet.

But it looks like I'm still a few years off from doing that taste test with my plant.
