I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for winter to be over and for Spring to be here. I’m ready to see plants popping out new growth. Alas, for me Spring is at best a few weeks away but most likely a couple of months. In that case, we are going to have to force our own new growth. This month’s contest is about new growth; baby plants and seedlings that you have started. Plants should be less than 1 year old. Seedlings and plants from leaf cuttings or pullings are acceptable.
As usual, here are the rules:
  1. You can submit 1 photograph for this contest.
  2. It must be your own picture.
  3. Pictures shared in previous contests are not eligible.
  4. Minimally edited photos only. No effects, or filters. Cropping is okay.
  5. The winner will be the entry with the highest number of thumbs up (likes) votes.
  6. Only votes from members with at least 5 posts will count.
  7. Members who have won within the past three months are not eligible for prizes but you can still enter.
  8. This contest is open internationally.
We’ve got a unique prize to go along with this contest. @Matt and Leah from The Flytrap Store are providing an assortment of seeds that are available from The Flytrap Store. The assortment includes the following:
  • Fused Tooth x Fused Tooth VFT seed
  • Special Red Mix (VFT)
  • FlytrapStore mix (VFT)
  • Brunswick County seeds (VFT)
  • Darlingtonia seeds
You can check out the details on the seeds on The Flytrap Store website here.

I didn't expect the vft to grow but it somehow survived. And I don't know how the sundews got there except that one day I look in the cup and there's a whole bunch of them growing.

Drosera binata multifida sprouts started from leaf cuttings. I think they need a transplant.

Some sundews just don't have any respect for others' property!

These are some wide leaf capensis seedlings that I started. I was curious if the seeds were good so I pinched the lowest pod and scattered the seeds out in the empty end of a tray with some spats growing in the other end. They seem to be happy sharing the same tray.

I'm an illegible receiver downfield due to winning a contest in the past few months so I can't win the prize. But, I'd shore like ya vote!!!! Ya dog's vote...ya dead great, great, great step-uncle's vote. Maybe your neighbor's dog's vote. Ya gotta cat?...shoot, let that critter vote, too!!! 'Cause if I'm elected I'm gonna change some things! I'm gonna ...uh, wait a minute, oh,...wrong speech...sorry!

Btw, I've also posted this in the sundew forum with another photo to put this one in perspective. ;)

Here's my "entry"...

I am assuming you have an abundance of these growing. The one I received for Christmas is going crazy. I was not sure of the exact age of it or I would have posted for this months contest!! I just recently collected some seed from it and will soon get them germinating. Do the seeds require stratification?
