hey guys,
So I’ve germinated successfully my seeds in a plastic bag. Now my real question is when would I be able to remove them from the plastic bag and let them hunt their own insects ?:)
well they’re really small ^^
Thanks guysImageImage

I start cutting away the bag as soon as most have germinated, though a lot of people wait until they are a couple months old to start cutting it away.

I don't use the bag method as I seem to have bad luck with it.

Generally speaking removing the bag all at once can shock the plants. I would poke larger holes in the bag first then leave the bag on for a week or so. Then more large holes and another week with the bag on
Then remove the bag completely after the third week.

Sundews tend to lose dew and growth if their conditions change suddenly.

You can do it but it may not be ideal right off the bat.

This is why I don't use the bag method unless I germinate the seedlings on a paper towel and then transplant them.

Good light and decently moist media do well for me without the bag.

Remove the bag and stick them in full sun or keep it bagged and under a grow light. You can feed them with bloodworms to speed up growth. They won’t catch their own insects at such a tiny size

I normally cut small holes and let the bag stay on for a week and then larger holes for week 2 and repeat every week and the 4th week I take the bag off completely. The slower you acclimate, the better. And as a bonus, any seeds that haven’t germinated yet will have some more time to do so. I start that process when I first see a few seedlings with their true leaves.
Hope that helps! :)

Sundews need good light. No light and they will either die back or grow funky.
