Hey guys,

I just wanted to see if anyone has any input on using a Zeer pot to grow Darlingtonia. I believe it might keep the roots a bit cooler and act as an insulator.
I have a medium sized plant that has been growing on my window sill for a couple of years and I want to re-pot it into something slightly larger and put it outside.

A quick google search will show you what a Zeer pot is if you don't know already...

Thanks!

Hi abgprh

This type of arrangement has been recommended by authorities for keeping Darlingtonia roots cooled if necessary, for a long long time, so although I have never needed to try it it has been proven to work successfully. Plastic outer pot, whhite if you want to reflect sunlight, terracotta inner pot with some inert wicking material between the two and stand in water and there you have it.
Where abouts in the world are you? you may find that if you can plant into a large container, you may not need to do this. if your climate is temperate enough.

Cheers
Steve
