When a plant gets sunburned, it usually turns yellow at first then brown if it gets burned badly. When watching a plant for signs of sunburn, just look for yellowing around the edges of the leaves. This thread shows a photo of a sunburned flytrap:

And this article shows a photo of some Cupped Trap flytraps I burned years ago:

This time of year, the sun isn't quite strong enough in most areas of the country to significantly burn flytraps if they are at all hardened off. Though, in the southern states it could be strong enough.

Just give it full sun from sunrise until 11am-12pm or so and then dappled sunlight or shade the rest of the day and it will do great. After a few weeks of that, you should be able to put it in full sun all day unless it is very hot, then dappled sunlight is better.

Does this look sunburned? If you zoom in close a leave is turning yellow, but I think that just might be because the leaf stalk is bent. I just would like a professional opinion.

Yep. The yellowing leaf/trap was broken in the middle of the leaf. It will ultimately turn brown then black over the next week or two. Just let it do that and when it is completely shriveled up, which allows for the plant to recoup as much energy as possible from the trauma caused during shipment, simply give it a gentle tug and remove it. I'd recommend not forcefully removing the trap until it turns black and is easy to remove.

Johns Flytraps wrote:Yes, but the instructions from Joels Carnivorous plants state that I should keep it indoors so that it gets used to sunlight, for about 2 weeks. I really want to put it in full sun like you said, but am not sure if it would hurt my plant.
Matt is right. SLOWLY acclimate your plant to full Sun outdoors. It will be fine. These are not houseplants.
