When a plant gets sunburned, it usually turns yellow at first then brown if it gets burned badly. When watching a plant for signs of sunburn, just look for yellowing around the edges of the leaves. This thread shows a photo of a sunburned flytrap:

This time of year, the sun isn't quite strong enough in most areas of the country to significantly burn flytraps if they are at all hardened off. Though, in the southern states it could be strong enough.
Just give it full sun from sunrise until 11am-12pm or so and then dappled sunlight or shade the rest of the day and it will do great. After a few weeks of that, you should be able to put it in full sun all day unless it is very hot, then dappled sunlight is better.
