So, another deathcube rescue. Turns out it was three plants for the price of one. They were listed as ventricosas, but the leaf to pitcher ratio seems totally wrong, and the periscope shape does not look like any ventricosa I've ever seen. Any ideas are appreciated!

In my experience they are usually Ventrata at lowes or home depot.
That is ventricosa and alata hybrid. So the label was (probably) half correct! Lol. With mine, the basal shoots make pitchers like how your plant looks then as they grow more they lose that fringe on the side and smooth out.

I'll see if I can post a picture of it next to my ventrata this evening. Might be one, and I know they usually are. Just seems to have little in common with the known one I have as of now, between the size, peristome 'teeth,' and ribs on the pitcher.

Might be, who knows!

I have gotten an actual ventricosa from Lowe's, labeled as a ventricosa too.

I will look at mine and see if I have a small basal shoot. If it does, the pitchers will look like your picture. Then as it grows up it will lose the teeth and the peristome kinda slopes down a lot more.

Sounds good on the basal photos. They were in the dead bin, and I got them for a steal, so no worries even if they're ventratas.

Quite potent little growers overall, and the ventrata I had received as a cutting has not done as well as they have in the same length of time.

Image this is the smallest pitcher I had developing. It has only a few hairs left, next pitcher from the same growth point will likely be smoothed out.
Only time will tell what your plant is for sure. Keep it growing and you'll know soon enough :)

I have a ventricosa that looks like that, it's a reddish form from Hawaiian Botanicals. I'm pretty sure that's a ventricosa though, we'll see in a year or so.
