I'd so love to raise chickens; I had a nostalgic moment at a farm/garden centre yesterday and found a viable substitue, a Buk-buk pipeum cleanicus!

Can't wait to see how the eggs progress.

Day 17 on the raster eggers and game fowls, day 14 on the polish and showgirls. I'll be moving the EEs and game fowls into a hatcher I built tomorrow as I have to lower temps and increase humidity. I can't believe these go from a dot in the yolk to a chick in 3 weeks.

Wish me luck on the hatch. Ive read several horror stories.

First chick hatched around lunch! Its a game fowl and destined for my friends farm. I'm not keeping any fighting chickens  . I have an Easter Egger pipping(breaking through) so hopefully sometime today i'll have another hatch.

The polish eggs and showgirl eggs are just on day 19 so I have a few more days before they start hatching.

Congratulations on your hatch. I'm glad to see you had better results with this then you did your grafting ;)

I have a bird nest above my porch light that I've been watching. They hatched out a week or two ago and they've grown so quickly. I'm sure they'll be leaving the nest this week. I have no idea how the mother still sits on them. There's hardly any room for the five babies. Hopefully none of them fall out while my dogs are out there.

Thanks Jason! I did get the most important plant grafted so I'm happy. I kind of knew that was a toss up because of the size of the grafting stock. This fall I'll try with some nice sized grafting stock.

Had so.e birds destroy my porch few years back. Had to put up screen so they wouldnt nest there. Good luck with your eggs.

Had another hatch today. An Easter Egger.
