My VFT got a small cockroach on 3 of April and still the trap is closed. Is it ok? Plant is going well and produces new leaves rapidly.

I've noticed with mine that it mostly depends on the age of the trap and how large the bug is. Newer traps usually seem to reopen a bit faster whereas older ones can be slower or may never reopen again at all if they've reached the end of their useful lifespan. (No need to worry though as long as newer traps are still sprouting up at the center.)

Also, smaller bugs require less digestion so those traps usually reopen sooner. I've seen traps with smaller bugs like gnats and fruit flies reopen after only a few days, but last summer, a particularly large bee took several weeks to digest and then the trap only reopened just partway. I guess it's the same as biting off more than you can chew!
