Hello, I just want to know if I can use plants to suck the nutrients out of the peat moss first (in case fertilizer is present) and then use the used peat moss to grow carnivorous plants after the nutrients are absorbed by normal plants? I would just pull out the roots of the plant and collect the Moss underneath, is that possible? I think washing them is very troublesome because I have to get things super dirty and I'd have no idea if the nutrients are completely leeched out or not. Any response is appreciated, thanks.

I have never rinsed out peat moss or did anything with it. All I have ever done is make my mixture, toss in the plants and forget about it.
