Hello guys, I have a VFT Alien coming in. I know that this cultivar has trouble closing/sealing its trap. I was wondering how do you guys feed this VFT? Would I have to look into fertilizer like Maxsea to keep this culitvar happy?

They can catch bugs, but not exceptionally well. I've never fed ours and it gets quite large without any help. But if you can catch a bug or two and feed it to it, it should grow more quickly. I wouldn't try using any fertilizer, but just catch bugs for it or use freeze-dried blood worms (rehydrated) to feed it as described here:

Good luck! Oh -- and welcome to the FlytrapCare forums :D

Thats great news that it can grow large on its own. Also good guide on the freeze dried blood worms. My fishes can now share their food with the VFTs  . Thanks for the info!
