When I first posted, I had only rescued the one VFT from the Lowe's cube. About a week later, I went back and got one of the bigger kits, and went ahead and got the second one that looked dead. They cut it down to $0.50, so I really wasn't out much if it died. I wish now I had taken pictures of it, as the poor VFT wanted to live: I opened the package, and it was trying to grow new traps out the side of the rhizome! They were only about 1/4" long when I got it.

When I got home, I repotted, potted up the "dormant" ones that were in the plastic bag (it was supposed to be a Sarrcenia and a VFT, but I ended up with two VFTs. :) ) and so far, they are all doing great! In the pot with the "dead" VFT, I even have a hitchhiker, a Darlingtonia seedling that apparently fell in there accidentally, and has germinated outside, as I now have all of my plants (except seedlings) outside. It seems to be doing well, so I'm going to leave it there and see how it does growing directly outside. :) Otherwise, I have PLENTY of others inside that are germinating all over the place if it doesn't make it. ;)

Here are the pics of everything:

The original VFT "death cube: save. He's doing nicely! He's even starting to "tan!"

One of the "dormant" ones. It's just now starting to really recover.
