I have two care questions I wanted to put in one post for convenience as well as maybe because they're connected?

#1:
I've had my young alien cultivar flytrap for a few weeks now, it seems to be growing quickly. I know under the description of this cultivar that the lamina is fairly brittle. However, i've noticed that the lamina and teeth are rough whilst my other flytraps have a smooth almost waxy feeling to them. Is this normal? The teeth are also quite brittle and spindly.

#2:
My typical is growing great with plenty of new and healthy looking growth, however, I've noticed that some of the new growth are shockingly red on top. I'm wondering if this is an issue?

Both are grown indoors under a set of florescent grow lights, there has been no change in their setup save for that i've been watering them from the top instead of the tray method since last week.

Edit: Grammar and phrasing

I get both of these "symptoms"all the time, which aren't really symptoms. The tooth problem will occur as the traps age,and the red is actually good;It means you are giving them sufficient light.
