Saw this item listed on a local (Malaysian) equivalent of eBay. Not sure if actual neps were ground up and used as an ingredient. :mrgreen:

Some cultural context... neps are marketed as a lucky and auspicious plant among the Chinese community here because it is said to "trap" wealth (that should have made be quite wealthy but so far that hasn't happened :roll: ).

If it has as many scams as our eBay does, then it is fake. Although there is a slight chance it actually contains nepenthes. I mean, in our culture, we grind up venus flytraps to make carnivora(and that is thought to provide health). :?:

We have our fair share of "Rare exotic Venus flytrap seeds" sold online here :lol:
I think it's most likely just repackaged ordinary incense. Nobody could tell what ingredients are used except perhaps the gods who receive the offerings.

Anyway, people do use neps for food here. It's becoming controversial over the past year.
