i pre-rinse my peat before use to minimize that problem but sometimes get a little bit showing up anyway. algae loves bright light with moist conditions almost as much as sundews XD

@ nepenthesl0ve, I have some MAXSEA fertilizer, do you think If I diluted it, capensis seedling would appreciate it, or would it just cause massive algae growth?

i have personally never used any fertilizers other than freeze dried blood worms. i know many have success with maxsea but algae def a problem. this species is one of the fastest and easiest. unless you can get some advice from someone who uses it i would hold off

An update on the VFT's... There is a huge difference between the seedlings but they are doing quite ok. I plan to transplant them i to a larger container. Also, the growth is pretty vertical so they could be light started. Am I right?

Wow they're doing awesome, great job. The VFTs may be light starved but they don't look too bad. Still, they look rather green so they could benefit from some more light.

Thank you! This is my first try at seedlings. The largedt vft is around 2" im height as wel as drosera. Any thoughts about would it be wise to re-pot them to a bigger container?

You probably could repot them without too much damage, but I'd wait a little bit more. Especially for the vft and Sarracenia. They still look like they could grow a bit more without crowding each other out. Although I think you could separate the sundew right now if you wanted.
