When you skip dormancy, does your plant die, does it make a flower in the spring? oh and can u keep your VTFs inside during winter on a window sill?

Hi Luke,

I wouldn't suggest skipping dormancy as the plants need their rest. If you have a cool windowsill, you can keep it there. They can go partially dormant, you will notice this by the plant stopping to grow or growing really slow. They should go back to life next spring.

I think what Kevin mean's is don't "Skip" dormancy. This will only get you're plant weaker and it will "drain" the energy of the plant and it will slowly and painfully kill you're plant (stress).

Your Plant will Flower in spring if it's "mature" but don't let it, if it's not Healthy. If the plant is Unhealthy at the time of the flowering it will severely weaken the plant an will eventually die from the "stress" from the amount of energy the plant takes up to flower.

You can keep them inside on a windowsill during the winter if that window is "cool" enough. But it's best too keep them outdoors and protect them from prolong freezes either by covering them or just bringing them in until the temps go above Freezing which is 32 degrees Fahrenheit (or 0 degrees Celsius).
