Yay.
New traps.
Bigger, better, taller, toothier, redder.
I'm finally an official CP grower.
Interesting thing about this individual is the serrated leaves close to the traps.

Pic 1: 2 Traps, top newly opened, bottom older and redder. Serrated leaves visible. The bottom caught a little gnat some time ago.
Image

Pic 2: The plant itself. Compare the old rosette traps and the new tall traps. No dormancy this year, let them grow first. The really dark red one on the right is digesting what I believe is either an ant or gnat.

One of the "big rosette" traps caught 3 bugs and on the 3rd it wilted.

More pics coming soon!

Update: The trap that is digesting something has opened. It caught a rather big ant. Should I remove it?

nice looking traps. no need to remove the digested insects. doing so will more than likely trigger the trap again, anyway. if you keep them outside, the rain will wash it away.

Thanks :) . Hope it will stay nice and get bigger.

I'm doing a weird thing where I move the plants in when it's about to rain. I keep my plants in their own plastic trays which is inside an aluminum (maybe) oreo tray. I move them in because
1. I have dews in there
1.5 The affinis has a nice stalk
2. When it rains here it rains absolutely hard.

Be careful with aluminum. It can start to degrade being wet all the time an leach minerals into your water. And also after time you will go to pick it up and the whole bottom will fall out. I’d try to find a plastic tray or at least line it with a plastic bag or something similar.

This trap is having a bad hair day!

Nice detail on trap and petiole (If you zoom in on the little gland things (I think they're glands?) it looks like they are poorly made 3D models):

What I like to call "The Big Boys", 4 big traps facing the same direction (Hmm, maybe I'll name my CP site after them!) (Give them names!)

Adorable!!!

This trap caught an ant, and one that's not too big too!

And the random shot of the new tallest trap and dentate petiole. This is the trap in the "Hey tall guy" shot.
